En este art\u00edculo se analizan el contexto hist\u00f3rico de su creaci\u00f3n y el contexto socioeducativo de su evoluci\u00f3n. Se hace un recorrido por el contexto de la creaci\u00f3n en 1911 de la Escuela Central de Idiomas de Madrid, pionera en la ense\u00f1anza de lenguas en el sistema educativo p\u00fablico espa\u00f1ol y germen de las actuales escuelas oficiales de idiomas. Se describen detalles como el procedimiento de selecci\u00f3n del profesorado, el sueldo percibido, las instalaciones donde se ubicaba, alumnado c\u00e9lebre que pas\u00f3 por sus aulas y su situaci\u00f3n durante la Guerra Civil y la posguerra, para, a partir de ah\u00ed, analizar la evoluci\u00f3n de las escuelas oficiales de idiomas en general y de las de Andaluc\u00eda en particular.<\/p>\n<h4><strong>Abstract<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Official Schools of Languages play an essential role in teaching languages to different sectors of society, as well as in approaching other cultures and offering the opportunity to learn less studied languages. This article describes the historical context of their creation and the socio-educational context of their evolution. It tackles the creation in 1911 of the Central School of Languages in Madrid, a pioneer in the teaching of languages in the Spanish public education system, and the stem of the current Official Schools of Languages. Details such as the teacher selection procedure, the salary, the setting and the facilities, some of the well-known students and the situation during the Civil War and the post-war period are described.
